Mackie’s New MP Series

When you’re performing it is essential to be able to hear everything with pristine clarity. The last thing that you need in the middle of a show is a bunch of useless static in your ears. You also need something that you can rely on to fit comfortably for the entire show. Introducing the new Mackie MP series of IEMs. Released in early 2018, these products are part of Mackie’s initiative to bring the amazing sound of their loudspeakers to your ears on stage.

Built for Comfort and Durability

This entire line is made with an ergonomic low profile enclosure to offer the best fit and sound isolation to the performer. Each series includes three different types of ear tips that all come in three sizes. No more one size fits all. These fit nicely in the ears guaranteeing all night wearability.

In the interest of protecting your investment, these come with a molded hard carry case that can easily be clipped to a gig bag for convenient and safe transportation. All cables are detachable, equipped with swivel MMCX connectors to cut down on wear and increase replaceability; that is in the unlikely event that you need to replace anything. Made with Mackie quality, the cables are all internally braided and include a strong outer shell guaranteeing a long-lasting product. All products in the series also come with a 1/8″ to 1/4″ adaptor giving you the flexibility to fit most systems.

Drivers to Fit the Performer’s Desire

Drivers are arguably the most important component of an in ears system since they dictate the sound that the user receives. Mackie has created different ones to fit the needs of many.

MP-120

These feature a single dynamic driver that gives the users an articulate, balanced sound, providing plenty of bass and vocal detail. With a frequency response of 20Hz -20 KHz, 32 ohms of impedance, and 102 dB sensitivity, these provide a nice overall sound.

MP-220

These feature dual dynamic drivers in each monitor so each one can address a specific frequency band. Featuring a dedicated low-frequency driver, this particular model is an excellent choice for bass players, drummers, and DJ’s. With a frequency response of 20Hz -20 KHz, 8ohms of impedance, and 104 dB sensitivity these provide a tight, defined, low-end that does not ignore the importance of supporting higher frequencies.

MP-240

These keep the same driver count as the MP-220, however, it is improved due to the hybrid driver configuration. One of the dynamic drivers is switched for a balanced armature driver and a custom crossover that helps divide up the frequencies between the two. This process allows for extra support to the mid and high registers. Adding the hybrid design allows for this function while maintaining great support in the bass. With a frequency response of 20Hz -20 KHz, 16 ohms of impedance and 108dB of sensitivity these are the top level for supporting a great sound across all ranges.
